All About the Family Child Care Environmental Rating Scale, 3rd edition (FCCERS 3)

This training focuses on how to use the Family Child Care Environment Rating Scale, 3rd Edition to assess and improve quality in home-based childcare. FCCERS-3 involves a 3-hour observation of physical space, interactions, language, routines, and developmental support for children from infancy to school age. This tool inlcudes looking at areas of health, safety, social-emotional, and cognitive growth, leading to better practices. It also is the assessment tool used for fulfilling Kentucky All STARS quality rating requirements. This training will not only explain how FCCERS 3 can be used to assess quality in your program, but will prepare participants for KY All STARS rater visits.
