Making the Switch to Family Child Care Environmental Rating Scale, 3rd Edition (FCCERS-3)

In this training session, in-home family child care providers will discuss the key differences between Family Child Care Environmental Rating Scale, Revised edition (FCCERS-R) and the Family Child Care Environmental Rating Scale, 3rd edition (FCCERS-3). FCCERS-R requires close attention to examining the number and quality of accessible materials while FCCERS-3 requires less attention to the accessible materials themselves and more attention to how the provider uses the materials to foster children's learning. This session will also focus on the explanation of the key terms used repetitively throughout the scale including accessible, appropriate, much of the day, some and many, usually and weather permitting.
